Summerfest

So despite the 100 degree weather this weekend we spent Saturday at the Virginia Highlands Summerfest.

Summerfest celebrates the beginning of summer with diverse arts, great food, live musical performances and much more. The festival takes place along Virginia Avenue, in the heart of historic Virginia-Highland as is considered one of the best artist markets in the southeast.
We walked to the Highlands from Midtown and enjoyed the festival for a couple of hours. Then we headed deeper into the Highlands and stopped in to visit one of Alan's coworkers. It was great to meet all the other friends they had over and see where they live. After our visit we finished making our way through the festival and then headed back to Midtown. The festival was a great way to spend the day and despite the buckets of sweat we lost we can't wait to do it again next year.
