Midnight Train to Georgia

One of the great things about living in Atlanta is the long list of activities and expereinces the city has to offer.  It's a great place for tourist but living here just gives you more time to get through that list.  We have everything from Stone Mountain to the largest Aquarium to the house where Gone with the Wind was written, not to mention all the restaurants we have that are either known for great food or great character!  One of those restaurants is Gladys Knight and Ron Winan's Chicken and Waffles. It's on Peachtree St and has been featured on numerous Travel Channel and Food Network shows.  It also just happens to be about 5 blocks from where we live.  We run by there several times a week and it's always packed and pumping out delicous scents!  Alan has wanted to visit since we moved to Atlanta but seeing as though I'm not supposed to eat fried food and am allergic to gluten, the combination of Fried Chicken and Waffles wasn't on the top of my list.  Turns out he wasn't the only person we know that was itching for the combo!

For 6 months we tried to plan a dinner date with a couple friend of ours.  Busy schedules eventually forced us to move it back time and time again.  However, a few weeks ago the stars aligned and the four of us met up for the long awaited meal.  The whole evening was quite an experience but great fun.  Eventually we were sat and ordered Chicken and Waffles combinations as well as Fried Corn and Mac and Cheese.  The food was absolutely delicious and left us wishing we had ordered more!  It was definitely well worth the wait and much better than expected!
