Mark your calendars!

As we have talked about before we have an interest in running in an event in Atlanta.
We have been researching our options, since we would like something that would benefit a cause we believe in and also be a qualifier for next year's Peachtree Road Race.

So, we have decided we are running in the CVS/CHOA Strong Legs Run.
The race is Saturday November 8th, 8:00 am and starts and ends at Turner Field in Downtown Atlanta.
We will be running the 10k event and since it is our first official timed event, we are shooting for finishing in around 70 minutes.

The event benefits Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta and we can't think of any organization better to run for! For those of you who aren't familar with Children's here is a little about them.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta enhances the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education. We are one of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country. Recognized for excellence in cardiology, cancer treatment, transplant services and many pediatric specialties. As a nonprofit organzation, we benefit from the generous philanthropic and volunteer support of our community, enabling us to enhance services and programs for children and their families. Donations directly impact the lives of each family served by Children’s and support many initiatives such as clinical excellence, research, teaching, wellness and charity care.

As part of our registration we are collecting pledges from anyone who would like to sponsor either (or both) of us in the event. There is no minimum you can pledge and everything donated goes 100% to Childrens. If you are interested please send a check made out to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, to our address and it will get sent in with our paperwork.

If anyone is interested in running with us, there is still time to register. And for those of you not interested, we would love to have you come to the event with us and cheer us on!
