National Night Out

The "25th Annual National Night Out", is a unique crime/drug prevention event has been set for August 5th (tonight).
National Night Out is designed to:
- heighten drug and crime prevention awareness
- generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
- strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
Last year's event involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from over 10,000 communities, from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Candadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, 35 million people participated in NNO 2007.

Tonight we will be taking part in Midtown's Night Out festivities and we hope you will join your local night out as well. It's a great night of socializing with your neighbors, good food and community spirit!
