Story on: Travel MSN.com

My family has visited this area of NC at Thanksgiving for many years now. Also some of my fondest memories from my childhood are from this location. My grandfather took my cousins and I there for one week during the spring several years in a row when I was around 5 - 7.

There are many great activities that you can participate in this area many of which I have done. For example fishing, boating, hiking, 4 wheeling on the beach, evening bond fires, hang gliding (actually in Kitty hawk), Kite surfing, surfing, and many more. If you haven't been to Hatteras Island/Ocracoke then you should put it on your summer vacation list.
